Now, when establishing bonus systems, employers will be obliged to detail all the nuances: types of bonuses and their amounts, terms, grounds and conditions for the payment of bonuses to employees, including taking into account the quality, efficiency and duration of work, whether or not an employee has been disciplined and other indicators.

Employers have also been given the right to reduce employee bonuses due to disciplinary action, but only if:

  • such condition is stipulated in the local act that establishes the bonus system;
  • bonuses included in the salary are subject to reduction if they are accrued for the period in which the relevant disciplinary sanction was imposed on the offending employee;
  • the amount of bonus reduction shall not result in a reduction of the employee’s monthly salary by more than 20 percent.

The amendments shall come into force on September 1, 2025.
