To maintain personnel records, calculate salaries, and prepare reports for government agencies, various versions and configurations of 1C can be used: ZUP 2.5 or 3; Accounting; Integrated Automation; ERP Enterprise Management, and other 1C configurations.

Based on our practice and the practice of our clients, we recommend choosing the software product “Payroll and Personnel Management” edition 3 (1C:ZUP 3), which allows for the most flexible and timely solution of tasks:

  • HR processes in the field of salary calculation and KPI
  • mutual settlements with individuals
  • personnel accounting and administration
  • personnel management and HR analytics

In our opinion, this tool is best adapted to the changes that occur in legislation. For example, the capabilities of interaction with the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) for direct payments of benefits to employees (SEDO) are excellently implemented, mechanisms related to the transition to the UNP (unified tax payment) are implemented, and there is a block for electronic document management in HR (1C: Employee Portal).

12 advantages of 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3

  1. Up-to-date and timely updates to the 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3 configuration. This allows for timely responses to changes in legislation regarding payroll calculations and proper accounting.
  2. Convenient and simple interface, system flexibility – complete program customization for the specifics of the enterprise, including the addition of used accruals and deductions.
  3. Convenient settings for notifications for submitting new personnel reports that need to be submitted by the event date, as well as the ability to configure EDI for personnel specialists to timely submit information about insured persons (hiring, firing, etc.).
  4. Ability to configure data exchange via EDI in 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3 – exchange of information with the Russian Social Security Fund (SSSF) regarding sick leave, benefits, responses to incoming requests, and notifications. With this tool, employers can reduce the risks of violating deadlines for providing information to the SSSF and establish prompt exchange of information with the fund.
  5. The ability to change the type of employment (main job, part-time) during personnel transfer in 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3. In previous versions of 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 2.5, changing the type of employment is reflected only by dismissing the employee and hiring a new one.
  6. The personnel specialist and payroll accountant in 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3 work with a single document. If several users with different rights work in the information base, in 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3, unlike 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 2.5, the user with HR rights and the user with payroll rights work with the same document. Duplication of “personnel” and “payroll” documents has been eliminated. Depending on their rights, they have access to filling in certain requisites. This significantly reduces labor costs for entering primary documents for various types of accruals and calculations with personnel.
  7. 1C: Personnel and Payroll Management Edition 3 has advanced capabilities for military accounting and occupational safety.
  8. 1C: ZUP 3 allows for keeping track of night and evening hours. In this edition, accounting of night and evening hours is kept separately from attendance hours. Attendance refers to work during daytime hours.
  9. In 1C: ZUP 2.5, all working time is coded as attendance. In 1C: ZUP 3, unlike 1C: ZUP 2.5, all types of calculations are collected in one reference book called “Accruals” (Settings – Accruals), i.e. a single list of accruals.
  10. There is the ability for automatic recalculations and adjustments in 1C: ZUP 3. The program “monitors” the user’s actions. If adjustments are made (salary size, employee work schedule) that may affect the size of the accruals, then a warning will appear in the document “Payroll and Contributions Accrual” that additional calculations (recalculation) are required.
  11. In the previous version, 1C: ZUP edition 2.5, a document called “Salary for Payment to Organizations” was created to pay employees, where the payment method could be specified as bank or cash. In 1C: ZUP edition 3, the approach has changed and instead of one document for each payment method, a separate document is used for each payment method. This is more clear and convenient, especially when payments are made to employee accounts and through a payroll project.
  12. 1C: ZUP 3 has capabilities for setting up staffing schedules and other personnel documents. There is a separate section for personnel electronic document management – 1C: Employee’s Cabinet, which has basic functionality for employees.

Please be advised that this year it is necessary to switch from version 1C: ZUP 2.5, as 1C will discontinue support for this version in the 1st quarter of 2024.
