Article 236 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation has been amended. Interest for delayed wages (and similar amounts) will be payable if:

  • wages accrued but not paid on time;
  • wages were not accrued in a timely manner and the court recognized the employee’s right to receive them.

Now this norm is enshrined in the legislation – amendments to Article 236 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation were introduced by the law of 30.01.2024 No. 3-FZ and came into force on January 30, 2024.

From January 30, 2024, employers are obliged to repay all types of debts, both accrued and non-accrued, with interest at the rate of 1/150 of the key rate for each day of delay.
