Since April 1, 2024, the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region has started the procedure of revoking the patents of migrants who arrived in the region at the beginning of the year and never found a job.

A foreign worker with a patent is obliged within two months from the date of issuance of the patent to notify the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which issued the document, in accordance with the established procedure on the implementation of labor activity. If the foreign worker fails to submit the notification, the patent will be canceled and the employer will be forced to dismiss him (par. 1 п. 7, par. 4 p. 22, p. 28 of Art. 13.3 of the Law N 115-FZ, p. 2 of Part 1 of Art. 327.6 of the Labor Code. 1 part 1 of Article 327.6 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). A copy of the employment contract must be attached to the notice.
